
Craig Kinnell, a copper marketing executive at Rio Tinto will take over from the current Oyu Tolgoi President and CEO Cameron McRae on October 1st.
It is said that Kinnell played an important role developing the copper business, increasing revenue and dealing with long term sales contracts with international market price for the past three years.
The Chairman of the Oyu Tolgoi Board of Directors, Mr G.Batsukh said “I am glad that Craig Kinnell will be taking over the post. He has proved himself a valuable, capable leader in the company. Oyu Tolgoi has completed some large scale construction on the site. Now Oyu Tolgoi has started steady operations.
I believe the appointment of Craig Kinnell who has experience of being in charge of several mines and selling copper products at international market price is timely.”
Kinnell as the Oyu Tolgoi President and CEO will be in charge of all Oyu Tolgoi operations including safety, strategy, all kinds of mining and operations licenses and the growth of output as well as the Executive Committee.
