Today is the beginning of the academic year. Today, on September 2nd an annual oath taking ceremony of students took place at the Wrestling Palace at 10.30 am. It has been a few years since all new University students started to take an oath at the beginning of their first academic year at university regardless of their major.

The Mongolian Student Union has organized the oath taking ceremony annually since 2011. An unofficial study shows that the new academic year will start with 175,591 students in 99 State and Private universities and colleges for the 2013-2014 academic year.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Mongolian Students Union, Kh.Batsaikhan, the Minister of Education and Science, L.Gantumur and the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor, E.Bat-Uul will take part with students being organised according to their universities.

Four new students from the Children`s Center will be awarded a free scholarship by the State Educational Fund during the oath taking ceremony today.
