On July 20th the Ikh Khurd 6 horse race for the best horses in Mongolia took place in Kharkhorn sum, Uvurkhangai aimag. This was the 6th Ikh Khurd race, which is organised every three years by the Federation of Mongolian Horse Racing Sports and Trainers. In the race only stallions and horses over five years old can compete. The horses are chosen from the winners of State, Regional and Aimag Nadaam competitions.

In the Stallion race category for 22km, Halzan stallion (stallion with blaze), trained by State Leading Trainer D.Bat-Erdene from Tsogttsetsii Sum Umungovi Aimag, came in first place. This is the Stallion that won the National Nadaam this year for the third time and has now won the 2013 Ikh Khurd.

The prizes for the winners of the Ikh Khurd 2013 are as follows:

• First prize – Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUV
• Second prize – 20 million MNT
• Third prize – 16 million MNT
• Fourth prize – 14 million MNT
• Fifth prize – 10 million MNT
