The final results of the 2013 Presidential Election of Mongolia were announced by the Chairman of the General Election Commission Ch.Sodnomtseren at 9:30 am on Thursday June 27th.According to preliminary results the attendance reached 64.78 percent nationwide ensuring the results of the voting will be valid.
The central server received data from 1,839 polling stations from 1,896. Data from these 1,839 polling stations released early on Thursday morning showed that 1,224,940 of the electorate had voted for DP candidate Ts.Elbegdorj. MPP candidate B.Bat-Erdene received 514,375 votes and MPRP candidate N.Udval received 79,843 votes.
The incumbent President, Tsakhia Elbegdorj, won with 50.22 percent of the votes.
The results of overseas absentee electorate votes have also been released. The data showed that there were 2,739 votes for DP candidate Ts.Elbegdorj, 1,283 votes for MPP candidate B.Bat-Erdene and 182 votes for MPRP candidate N.Udval from a total of 4,242 overseas absentee voters.
