
On the first day of the Miami Grand Prix, Mongolian judoka G.Kherlen won a gold medal in the male 60 kg class. B.Batgerel and A.Tsolmon won bronze medals in the male 66 kg and the female 52 kg class respectively.
On the second day G.Tuvshinjargal also won bronze in the male 81 kg category and B.Sugarjargal won bronze in the male +100 kg.
Mongolian judoka G.Altanbagana ranked 5th place in the male 81 kg class.
At the Miami Grand Prix the Mongolian judo team overall came in at 7th place with the total winnings of one gold medal and four bronze medals. A Russian judo team placed in first with two gold medals, four silver and two bronze medals.
The Grand Prix of Miami grants 300, 180 and 120 points to the winners for the world ranking.
According to the official site of the event, some 350 judokas from 41 countries took part in the two-day event. The Mongolian judo team consisted of 10 male participants and 2 female judokas.
The previous years’ competition was held under the name of World Cup, but this year the competition qualified to the Grand Prix level.
