The Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Finland, Eero Olavi Heinäluoma, landed at Chinggis Khaan International Airport for a three day-official visit to Mongolia today on June 10th.
The Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament, Z.Enkhbold, welcomed his counterpart Mr. Eero Olavi Eero Heinäluoma at Sukhbaatar Square to show their respects to the Great Chinggis Khaan Monument at 1:50 pm.

During the official visit Mr Eero Heinäluoma will meet the Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Altankhuyag, and partake in bilateral talks with the Minister of Mining, D.Gankhuyag and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, B.Urgamaltsetseg.

The establishment of diplomatic relations with the Republic of Finland dates to July 15, 1973. An official visit by delegates of the Parliament of Finland to Mongolia established the grounds for diplomatic relations in 1985.

There is a Finland-Mongolia inter-parliamentary group in the Parliament of Finland. The Chairwoman of Finland-Mongolia inter-parliamentary group, Chair of the Constitutional Law Committee paid a visit to Mongolia in 2002.

In 2000-2004, a 14 member parliamentary group between Mongolia and Scandinavian countries was established, appointing MP N.Bolormaa the head of the group. There was also an independent parliamentary group of Mongolia-Finland led by MP. N.Togtokh.

In 2004-2008, MP D.Bat-Erdene was appointed as the Chair of the Mongolia-Finland parliamentary group and replaced by MP B.Choijilsuren in 2008.
