International veterinarians are now in the country to study Mongolian livestock. Their decision on whether the animals are “healthy” or not will be important in exporting meat and live animals. In the absence of such a health guarantee, Mongolia could export only 810 cattle and 910 sheep to Russia and 5,000 horses to China in 2009.
