The State Great Khural or Parliament has been finally formed a year after the Parliamentary election in June 2012.
During the last period Parliament did not have representatives from the 10th Electoral District or Uvurkhangai aimag and the 26th Electoral District in Songinokhairkhan.
On Friday the new MP D.Sumiyabazar of MPP and D.Zorigt from DP took oaths at the end of the plenary session meeting of Parliament after MPs agreed on the two to take the oath taking as MPs.
MP D.Sumiyabazar is one of the youngest members in parliament but he is not junior to politics because he was previously representing in the Capital City Citizens` Representative Khural.
D.Sumiyabazar won in a revote in the 26th Electoral District in Songinokhairkhan District. He said that he “will make up for the one year absence with speedy work for residents in Songinokhairkhan District where 10 percent of the Mongolian population live.”
But it is controversial for new MP D.Zorigt. After a long debate in Uvurkhangai Electoral Distric, DP member G.Batkhuu took the oath as a member of parliament but D.Zorigt drew back his name.
MPP members S.Chinzorig and N.Tumurkhuu won the majority of the votes but their nominees cancelled after it was revealed that they violated election law by distributing money during the election campaign.
So DP member D.Zorigt took the oath. D.Zorigt has previously been elected in Uvurkhangai to Parliament.
D.Zorigt said that “Now residents of Uvurkhangai have two representatives in Parliament. For me it was a prolonged election. Over the past 11 months Uvurkhangai residents have had no representative in Parliament so I will work for protecting the voter’s and Mongolian’s interests, especially people who run businesses and make capital.”
