With full support from the weather children (and also
their parents) had a wonderful time on Children’s Day. A visit to Sukhbaatar
Square appeared to be mandatory, keeping the place crowded and festive for the
whole day.

The celebrations there began in the morning with. Prime
Minister S.Batbold and Parliament Speaker D.Demberel cutting a 20-meter long
cake, made by Talkh Chikher bakery.  Many
companies provided their food products free for children.

Another attraction was near the central stadium where a
little zoo had sprung up. Children could carry their pets to see camels,
rabbits, snakes, and eagles. They will be there until Thursday.

Many parents felt a little disappointed that there was
nothing strong to drink anywhere, as it was the first day of the month, when
Ulaanbaatar is dry.
