Former
president and head of the Mongolian People`s Revolutionary Party (MPRP)
N.Enkhbayar, who sentenced to two and a half years in jail for power
abuse and corruption charges by three courts sent a release request to
the Capital City Prosecutor`s Office on May 2nd.

The Capital
City Prosecutor`s Office revised the request, however it was returned.
The request does not meet the requirement of the joint decree written by
the Minister of Justice and Minister of Health to release a convict on
the grounds of their health condition. The request delivered from the
hospital of the detention center did not meet the requirements of the
rule. 

The former president has served in jail for over a year including the period since he was detained.
