Former president N.Enkhbayar, who was sentenced to 2.6 year in jail by three courts, delivered a request to the State Prosecutor on Friday April 26th.

He said in the request “I have been in a weak health condition since the hunger strike last year. Professional medical doctors have made a few assessments saying that I am unable to serve my time jail due to my health condition.  Hence, I am delivering a request to you to resolve this issue immediately according to law to and to cancel my jail sentence considering my health condition. I also want you to consider the medical doctors` assessment about my health problem that I need to have treatment abroad.”

The former president who was sentenced for power abuse and corruption during his term has been jailed for over one year including his period of detainment.
