Numerous fish found dead in Tuul river last weekend has sparked public debate.

It was an incident of hundreds of fish found dead in Tuul river near Marshall bridge in the area of Khan-Uul District. The reason behind this sudden loss is mysterious.

The head of the Department of Environment, Tourism, Geology and Mining Inspection at the State Specialized Inspection Agency, Nyamdorj said that

“We have not received a report about dead fish found. It is having no chance to verify whether the fish is dead or not because ice of the river is not melted yet.”

The report about numerous dead fish found was posted in twitter by a hiker O.Nergui last weekend. He said about it “We hikers crossed Tuul river during a cycling trip last weekend. When we crossed the river near Marshal bridge we could smell rotten. And the thing was we found numerous dead fish. So I posted it in twitter to let people know about it”

Following the report several news reporters went to see the river. When they reached to the river they  saw crows in the sky just in the area of dead fish found. Reporters found dead fish stranded in dry.

The dead fish found crossly in Tuul river is not the first incident. The common reason is explained by waste water of leather processing industries to the rivers near the City.

But Environmental Inspector of the State Specialized Inspection Agency said that there was no such incident in past several years.

Mystery still surrounds the cause of death, but numerous speculations surfaced the incident.
