There is two scheduled solar eclipses and three lunar eclipses scheduled for the year 2013.

Stargazers, prepare for the first lunar eclipse of the 2013 season. Many flock to websites in the hopes to find visibility and viewing information.

Every year astronomers and public stargazers look forward to both solar and lunar eclipses. The first scheduled lunar eclipse will be visible from the Eastern hemisphere on April 25. It is scheduled to be a quick eclipse with only a sliver of the moon being overshadowed by the Earth passing between the sun and moon. But this does not deter stargazers, professional and amateur sky watchers always are anxious to capture the phenomenon on camera. But a month later, on May 25, a penumbral eclipse will be visible from the Americas and Africa.

Penumbral lunar eclipse is on Oct. 18, 2013, visible from the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia.
