The DP caucus Chairman in Parliament, D.Erdenebat, announced that the DP candidate`s name for the Presidential Election would be released after the National Consultative Committee of the Democratic Party. The Committee will meet and discuss the name of the candidate sometime over the first 10 days of May.

The DP caucus discussed several topical issues during Monday`s caucus meeting.

The first thing caucus members heard was the Prime Minister`s notice about the large scale construction work planned this spring.

The Chairman of the DP caucus, D.Erdenebat said that caucus members supported the Government`s urge to start a wide range of construction work and deliver coal shipments constantly.

DP members appreciate the Government`s decision to resume coal shipments from Tavantolgoi to China.

The Government gave an order to the caucus on the construction work of railways and roads.

The Chairman of the DP caucus was asked about the rejection on a suggestion made by the opposition MPP caucus to establish a working group due to a report that the Central Bank of Mongolia might be buying gold with the assets of the Chinggis bond.

D.Erdenebat explained the rejection by saying “The Central Bank is not subject to the Government according to law. It belongs to the structure of Parliament. Any hearings from Parliament are open.

Lastly, D.Erdenebat announced that the DP candidate for the Presidential Election would be released after it will be discussed during the National Consultative Committee in the first 10 days of May.
