The Mongolian mountaineer Gotovdorj Usukhbayar who left for his Arctic voyage has reported in via iridium satellite phone that he has passed 60 percent of the way to the North Pole.

The team consisting of seven voyagers has passed an almost 70 km ice field. The way leading to reach the North Pole at 90 degrees N latitude is full of barriers, but the skilled team of experienced mountaineers plans to reach the destination by April 20th.

This will be the same day as Gotovdorj Usukhbayars` birthday so the team wants to give a surprise to the mountaineer calculating the date and strain.

Even though the weather is fair this time of the year, the adventurers eyes are wearing under the strain and the tents are covered with ice.
