
Speaker Zandaakhuu Enkhbold said that he hopes this visit will enhance cooperation in every field particularly on economy, business and investment between the two countries that have been historically linked for hundreds of years. He also stated that Mongolia is willing to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in every sector specially in economy and social fields with its third neighbor Turkey, the country that ranked 16th in the world with its economic growth.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Mongolia in 2005. He noted that he was delighted to see that Ulaanbaatar City has changed a lot and rapidly developed since that time.
The Turkish Prime Minister said that successful cooperation between the two countries should continue in every field.
The Prime Ministers of both countries signed several documents on cooperation during the visit upon the invitation of the Prime Minister of Mongolia. Turkey has invested 36 million US dollars in business and the economy of Mongolia. But this is not a huge amount. It was said that they saw more opportunities to cooperate on a wider range particularly in energy and infrastructure.
Speaker Zandaakhuu Enkhbold stated that the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) under the direction of the Turkish Prime Minister built 46 km of roads from the ancient city Kharkhorin to Khushuu Tsaidam where the Turkic Bilge Khan Monument Complex is located. It made a way for people to see the ancient site.
During the intergovernmental meeting between the two countries matters on cooperation on the building of Kharkhorin International Airport near Mongolia’s ancient city were discussed.
The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that Turkey will cooperate on building the International Airport in Kharkhorin. He hopes for Turkish Airlines to arrange flights to Mongolia every day.
