The National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia reported that residents in seven sums in four different aimags have seen harsh spring weather and deep snow in recent days.

The following sums have suffered the after affects of heavy snow in the middle of spring: Khalkhgol and Sergelen sum in Dornod aimag; Asgat, Bayantes and Bayankhairkhan in Zavkhan aimag; Tsagaan Uur in Khuvsgul and Bayanjargalan in Tuv aimag.

Snow depth is reported to be between 20 and 33 cm in some places and snow storms have caused 40 to 60 cm of snow banks in some remote areas. These places are being focused on for emergency attention.

The National Emergency Management Agency also reports that spring is worse in Stagaan Ovoo and Khulunbuir sums in Dornod aimag, Orkhontuul and Tushig sums in Selenge aimag, Bayandelger sum in Tuv aimag, Baruunturuun sum in Uvs aimag and Ulaan-Uul in Khuvsghul aimag where there are between 10 and 19 cm snow cover.
