On Sunday March 31st an armed robbery took place in a gold and silver jewelry shop, Mungun Zaviya, located in Chingeltei District.

Reports say that this was the second incident in one year. Previously, last April in 2012 three robbers attacked a saleswoman and stabbed her in the thigh when she opened the shop. They escaped with 5 million MNT of merchandise and money. Police investigated the case but no one was arrested. A year after the case another robbery has occurred in the same shop.

The incident occurred at around 10.00 am on Sunday when the saleswoman opened the shop. Two or three robbers aged around 40 attempted to strangle her and escaped with 1.2 million MNT, a silver stuffed belt and silver bowls.

Police suspect the robbers might be the same who robbed the shop a year ago.
