The Standing Committee on Environment, Food and
Agriculture yesterday refused to approve the draft law on establishing an
agriculture stock exchange, and asked its initiators to redraft it in the light
of the Mongolian Livestock program approved by Parliament last week.
The proposed stock exchange will trade in animal products
to help raise herders’ income. Raw materials from all over the country will be
listed in the exchange to be set up in
and will be traded online.
MPs such as J.Enkhbayar, Kh.Narankhuu, P.Altangerel and
R.Bud felt this arrangement might work against the livestock program and were
not also certain if the exchange should
be in
or in the countryside.
