A musical based on William Shakespeare”s play Romeo and Juliet, with music and lyrics by Gerard Presgurvic is to be staged in Mongolia. This will be the first time the musical of Romeo and Juliet will be performed in Asia.

Prestigious Mongolian artists, State Prized artist B.Sarantuya, artist of the State Academic Drama Theatre, Classic Gem band and A-Capella band will star in the musical performance.

Mongolian companies will be responsible for the stage, music and lighting for the performance.

French artists will be responsible for preparing the words of the musical in Mongolian language and the technical works.

This is the first time that singers and artists will work together in a production. Audiences in other countries in Asia are looking forward to seeing the musical.

The red carpet ceremony of Romeo and Juliet will be held in early May.
