A long delayed trial for former secret agent, colonel B.Nyamkhand, who is suspected leaking secret files,  will be held today in Khan-Uul District Court.

The trial was scheduled to be held last week but postponed until this day because the State prosecutor had to be replaced as well as B.Nyamkhand`s attorney left for work to Japan.

Former secret agent of Counterspy Department of the General Intelligence Agency is suspected as working for a foreign secret force and leaked secret-level files during a time of state emergency aiming to threaten the National Independence, Security and Defense of Mongolia.

An investigation into the spy case has been carried out since 2011. But the case was re-examined for number of times and delayed for two years with no progress. If it is determined that B.Nyamkhand is guilty of spying for foreign secret force he will face a 16 to 25 year jail term.
