A consultative meeting on Burkhan Khaldun, the worshipping mountain will be held at  “Centre on Conservation of Freshwater Reserves and Nature of Mongolia” (CCFRNM) on March 1st.  During the meeting issues to strengthen environmental protection of Burkhan Khaldun, the birth place of Great Chinggis Khaan, save tradition and customs, take action to register State worshipping mountain to World Heritage Site to be discussed.

Local Governors, Head of  the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area, officials of Ministry of Environment and Green Development, advisor to President will attend at the meeting.

Mongolians worshipped for the sacred Burkhan Khaldun mountain from generation to generation for centuries but  the worshipping halted temporally during the years between 1930-1995.

The first state ceremony initiated by former president Enkhbayar Nambar  was held in Khentii Aimag to worship the Burkhan Khaldun Mountain, the great veneration of the Mongolian nation in 1996. The ceremony arranged at 2,662 meter height of the Mountain. The Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and the mountain ranges in Khentii Aimag became the source of the life, struggle, success, and victory of the Millennium Man – Great Chinggis Khan. But lately sacred Burkhan Khaldun mountain has became a busy place of travelers causing great loss and damage to the environment of the area.
