Mongolian athlete wins Asian Marathon Championship

A Mongolian athlete, State Honored athlete Bat-Ochir Ser-Od won 14th Asian Marathon Championships 2013 in Hong Kong on February 24 Sunday. This is the second time Bat-Ochir Ser-Od has won Asian Marathon Championships. Ser-Od came with time of two hours, 17 minutes and 56 seconds.

And Uzbekistan runner Anoley Petrov took second with time of two hours, 20 minutes and 24 seconds while Japanese Kenzo Kawabata came in two hours, 22 minutes and 22 seconds after Mongolian runner in the 14th Asian Marathon Championships for men. A North Korean runner Kim Kum Oik won with time of two hours, 32 minutes and 21 seconds in the 14th Asian Marathon Championships for women.

Bat-Ochir Ser-Od was also winner of the 2010 Asian Marathon Championships and has competed successfully in many other international marathons. His achievements include first places in the 2012 Osaka Marathon in Japan and the 2010 Brighton Marathon in England, and tenth place in the 2010 Berlin Marathon in Germany. His personal best of two hours, 11 minutes, and five seconds is the Mongolian national record.

He was a representative in the Mongolian Olympic team at the Summer Olympics in 2004 and 2008. B.Ser-Od has also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and got the 51st position, and was selected as the national flag bearer in the opening ceremony as well.
