The Prime Minister, Altankhuyag Norov, presented a Mongolian flag during the farewell to professor Lhamsuren Dugerjav of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the leader of the Antarctica Research Association, before he left for Antarctica.

Professor Lhamsuren Dugerjav returned home from a successful journey to the southernmost point of Antarctica where he raised the Mongolian flag.

Dugerjav Lhamsuren met Prime Minister Altankhuyag Norov to give back the national Mongolian flag that was hoisted in the Antarctic.

The Professor said that this journey brought much progress to Antarctic research and surveying.

Mongolia has been granted the right to establish a research base near the Bulgarian base at Livingston Island on the continent.

Mongolia is to join in an international convention becoming the 48th member country on March 15th. This matter is expected to be discussed by parliament.
