The new Tobacco Control law will be implemented by March 1st according to the amendments made to the old law.

Social workers and coordinators in Khoroos in Sukhbaatar district and social workers in schools attended special training given by the Local Commerce and Service division of  the District Governor`s Office on the implementation of the new amendments.

There are 51 secondary and primary schools in Sukhbaatar district. Within a 500 meter radius of the schools there are 254 service points and 213 canteens and restaurants.

According to the new amendments to the Tobacco Control law smoking cigarettes or tobacco is not allowed near schools and public places.

Therefore notices forbidding smoking in these areas have been delivered to the establishments.
