Local reports say that two suspects have been arrested in the USA on Monday over the murder of the former member of Government and parliament Zorig Sanjaasuren.

Zorig Sanjaasuren, one of the leaders of 1990 democratic revolution in Mongolia was assassinated in 1998. The murder of the 36 years old prominent Mongolian politician is still unsolved despite the questioning of a number of suspects over the case.

In the last few months of his life Mr. Zorig served as the Minister of Infrastructure, overseeing multimillion-dollar construction contracts. On the day of his death, party leaders had agreed to nominate him as Prime Minister, promising to end a three-month standoff that has paralyzed the Government.

Local report says that 5 agents from US special forces invaded and arrested two Mongolians in the USA as suspect in the murder case on Monday, which has sparked speculation about the mysterious case. According to an unconfirmed source the arrested suspects had been investigated by the International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO) upon the request of the Mongolian legislative.

The new suspects in the murder case have been in the USA for around 13 or 14 years.
USA special force agents said that “the arrest was done upon the Mongolian Government`s request. The suspects are believed to be linked to the assassination of a Mongolian politician.”

The suspects’ families are required to pay a million US dollar bailout.
US special agents are currently investigating the suspects backgrounds to discover what they were doing for past two decades.

According to a source close to the matter the suspects are fathers of two and three children each. The Embassy of Mongolia in the USA has not released any comments about the arrests.
