The two-day visit of the Prime-Minister of the Czech
Republic, Jan Fischer, ended last Thursday, after a visit to a memorial complex
to Chinggis Khaan in Erdene soum, Tuv aimag, which includes a giant statue of
the Mongol leader. The Czech delegation also visited a herder’s ger, to see
traditional
then to the Gobi cashmere factory and the fourth power station of
idea of how the country is modernizing.
Earlier, a joint declaration issued at the end of wide
ranging talks between the two Prime Ministers underlined the similarities in
the modern history of the two counties, both of which adopted democratic reforms
after abandoning socialism 20 years ago. It affirmed the strength of their
bilateral relationship based on universal values, democracy and market economy.
The two leaders had identified areas in trade, economics,
culture, education, science, defense, environment, labor and migration where
the two countries’ partnership and cooperation could be strengthened. The visit
of the Czech Premier underlined the need for regular high level visits and
talks, the declaration said.
