
Recently such incidents have occurred in Mongolia. An investigation revealed that three Malaysians landed in the country to conduct fraud using fake credit cards on January 23rd this year.
One day after their arrival they attempted to buy goods with the fake credit card in expensive, high class stores.
However the credit card protection system of the Trade and Development Bank determined suspicious financial attempts and notified the Criminal Police Department.
Staff of the Economic Crime Combat Division of the Criminal Police Department took action following the evidence to determine where the convicts who used fake credit cards were and arrested them from Chinggis Khaan international airport on January 25th.
The arrested suspects have been wanted for conducting fraud in Qatar, Mauritania and France by using fake credit cards. But they were arrested during their next attempts in Mongolia. Police officials seized a total of 113 fake international credit cards.
In 2012 six Malaysian and Singaporean suspects were arrested for credit card fraud and sentenced by the Mongolian Court.
