
Before submitting the Mineral Draft Law, two big discussions were held at the Civil Hall in Government House in order to collect public views.
A working group established under the Presidential Office designated the Mineral Draft Law.
The Mineral Draft Law is expected to be passed in the session next Autumn in parliament after being discussed by the public.
The Minerals Law of Mongolia, approved in 1997 was amended in 2006, but Parliament again debated a revision of the Law last spring. He discussion in May ended without approval of a new law as lawmakers views differed on some issues. This created an unclear legal environment for the Minerals Law.
