A Mongolian citizen, E.Altanzul and a Filipino citizen, Avengly Presley Bendo, were accused of trying to smuggle 5.4 kg of heroin through Buyant Ukhaa airport customs control on May 14th 2012.

The trial for the convicts was held at Khan-Uul District Court on Monday January 7th. The Judges sentenced the convicts, who plead guilty, to 18 years in jail for smuggling heroin into Mongolia. According to the Criminal Proceeding Law the convicts must serve their jail term in the maximum security prison.
