Professor L.Jambaljav and doctor of the liver clinic in the National Research Center for Infectious Diseases, M.Tunsag, made a statement about the former President, the head of MPRP, N.Enkhbayar`s current health condition on Thursday. The doctors reported that N.Enkhbayar`s life is in a danger. They warned that he will die unless urgent action is taken.

Our journalist spoke to Dr.L.Jambaljav about the current situation.

-What is former president N.Enkhbayar diagnosis since he has been treated in hospital?

– His diagnosis is not clear. It is still impossible to carry out a special examination and treat N.Enkhbayar. His heart, liver and kidney activities are weakened because of malnutrition.

An accute deficiency is seen in the cardiac muscle. And bilirubin levels in the blood have increased.

-Has his health condition not improved since the treatment?

-He has had treatments but they have not helped. His life is in danger if urgent action taken.

-Why has there been no help after treatment?

-N.Enkhbayar is not allowed to see anyone in his treatment room in the hospital as it is under strict control. He should be outdoors and should see friends and families. We believe it will help him more than treatment.

-The Second State Hospital doctors say that N.Enkhbayar is being treated by private doctors and nurses for 24 hours a day. But you claim that his health condition is getting worse. The Court Decision Enforcement General Office reports that the Office does not intervene in N.Enkhbayar`s family members and friends seeing him.

-He is being kept in a room like a prisoner. That`s why his health condition gets worse.

-Reports say that N.Enkhbayar is to go on a hunger strike?

-It is obvious N.Enkhbayar is doing the hunger strike in opposition to the Court`s illegal decision. This time he might again hunger strike if the Court does not retract its illegal decision.

-Is this statement related to the trial for N.Enkhbayar? Because you also made the statement at MPRP building.

-It is because there is no other place to make such a statement.

The primary and appeal court sentenced former president N.Enkhbayar to four years in jail for abuse of power and causing great loss to the state. He was jailed in Gants Khudag detention center until he was delivered to the Second State Hospital due to health problems from August 8th.

The Supreme Court will review the case on December 7th.
