According to a new rule to reduce heavy traffic jams in Ulaanbaatar city the first lane on the main road allows only public buses, staff transportation buses and taxis. This has been extended from the Officers` Palace to Tavanshar. Our journalist spoke to G.Dorjpalam, the chief of the Dispatcher Department of the City`s Public Transportation about the new rule.

-The first lane service on the main road has been extended. Can you give more details?

-Only public transportation buses and taxis in standard service and staff buses will be allowed to drive in the first lane of the main road in Ulaanbaatar city from the Officers` Palace to Tavanshar starting from  December 10th. The rule has been approved by the City Major`s decree.

-What about the launch of the express service by the decree of the City`s Major?

-The City plans to launch an express bus service along the City`s horizontal and vertical axis in February 2013. The number of buses running for the public transportation service will also be increased according to the City Major’s decree.
