The Anti-Corruption Authority (ACA) has questioned authorities in the long run. It is shaping the hope amongst citizens that it is possible to fight against corruption. Currently the Anti-Corruption Authority transferred a few big controversial cases to the Prosecutor`s Office. Re-questioning and the discarded of cases only happen on a few occations.

According to an official close to the matter, the Anti-Corruption Authority is currently questioning J.Batbayr, the vice director of the General Tax Office, B.lhagva, the former chairman of the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumers Rights and six officials related to the case, Sarah Armstrong, the Chief Legal Counsel of SouthGobi Resources (owned by Rio Tinto) and L.Amarsanaa, former chief of the State Investigation Department. The cases in the final questioning stage will be transferred to the Prosecutor`s Office soon.

The official close to the matter however denied the information regarding the ACA receiving a request by the City Property Office for the former parliamentarian Ts.Batbayar to be investigated.

The vice director of the General Tax Office, J.Batbayar is suspected of corruption by the ACA and is being questioned over evading tax by the State Investigation Department. J.Batbayar is being investigated covering over ten companies tax debts through false documents and bills.

Former chairman of Fair Competition and Customer`s Rights, B.Lhagva, is accused of cancelling a fine to fuel importers in collision with six members of the directors board. The following are also being questioned by the ACA: S.Ganbaatar, the permanent member of the Directors Board; B.Altantsetseg, Deputy of the Head of Strategy in the Policy and Planning Department and former Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry; B.Batbayar, the head of Finance and Economic Policy of Ministry of Finance; A. Erdenepurev, Director of the Department of Fuel Policy in the Mongolian Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy; and M.Ganjoloo, CEO of the National Association of Mongolian Societies of Consumer Rights Protection.

J.Amarsanaa, former chairman of the State Registration Office is also being investigated by a joint working group from the Intelligence General Agency and Investigation Department of the Anti-Corruption Authority.

J.Amarsanaa is accused of abuse of power and the misuse of voters` private information illegally.

Most of the officials being questioned are responsible for their posts during the investigation.
