Today the Information and Technology Center informed the General Election Committee about adopting an automatic system for the local administrative elections.

The head of the Information and Technology Center in the General Election Committee, J.Erdenebat said that ensuring the automatic system is available for use is vital when we are the first to adopt an automatic system in local administrative elections.

The Information and Technology Center has followed the rules and regulations set by the General Election Committee in the adoption of the automatic system for the coming local administrative election and have set ballot papers that have been approved by the election committees.

There is also a joint working group formed from three different organizations that are responsible for securing the vote counting machine. During the preparations the working group is checking the vote counting machine by inserting test ballot paper and seeing the results.

 The head of the Information and Technology Center, J.Erdenebat said: “The vote counting machine testing will be finished by 15th November according to scheduled plan. The working group will also be experienced in sending the data. Currently five provinces` vote machines are ready. We have delivered facilities to allow the automatic system to be used in eight provinces.”

Already, 2500 vote machines have been distributed to 2010 vote units so far.  These machines were used for the parliamentary election last June. The General Election Committee is planning to distribute an extra 490 machines to be left in reserve.
The Information and Technology Center is trying to prevent any sudden failure of the vote machines. The working group said that the preparation work for the local administrative elections is at 50 percent.
