Today Deputy Speaker S.Bayartsogt and MP S.Ganbaatar announced the date of an open debate on the Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement. The open debate is to be held on air at 9 o’clock in the evening of 18th November in MNBTV.

The purpose of the open debate is to give more information on all issues related to the Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement, how it is signed and how Mongolians would benefit from the project. Who will present the debate and how it will be received is still unclear.
Press staff and citizens representatives can also take part.

During the press conference Deputy Speaker S.Bayartsogt said that there was“nothing to say now since the date has been announced”, while MP S.Ganbaatar said “It is important to publicly announce the issues related to Oyu Tolgoi Investment Agreement.  I want you to be aware of the importance of the debate, to give information about the controversial agreement. But this debate is not designed to judge whether the Agreement is wrong or right.”
