The Ministry for Nature, Environment and Green Development and the State Professional Inspection Agency identified “T&P” and “Zanart Uul” LLC as illegally operating. Their operations have caused great loss and damage to nature at the ancient site of Gun Galuutai, in Bayandelger soum, Tuv province. The result of an inspection revealed that T&P failed to carry out its complete obligations on protecting and recovering the nature during its operation. The company failed to fulfill a demand by the State inspector of Bayandelger soum.

Gun Galuutai Nature Reserve is a local protected area for the conservation of globally threatened species near the licensed area of Zanart Uul LLC. The inspection by the Ministry for Nature, Environment and Green Development and the State Professional Inspection Agency also determined that the area was partially destroyed and dug by Zanart Uul LLC. Gun Galuutai Nature Reserve is an ancient archeological site which is rich in rare species such as argali, rare birds and ancient tombs and graves.

Experts said that issuing an exploration license at this archeological site was illegal. Therefore officials delivered a request to cancel the exploration license numbered 13654Х and 15316Х to the Mineral Authority of Mongolia.
