For abuse of power and giving the order to fire during July 1st incidents in 2008 former Chief of General Police Office, major general, Ch.Amarbold, the Metropolitan Police Authority, Mr. O.Zorigt, the Head of the Public Discipline Department and colonel Sh.Batsukh have been sentenced by the primary and appeal courts. Today the senior police official’s cases transferred to the State Supreme Court.  The State Supreme Court will officially announce the date of hearing in 30 days.

Sukhbaatar district court sentenced the former Chief of General Police Office, major general, Ch.Amarbold, former head of the Public Discipline Department, colonel Sh.Batsukh to a 3.6 year jail term and to the Metropolitan Police Authority, Mr. O.Zorigt a 2.6 year jail term; the City Court reaffirmed the sentences.

The court showed mercy to police lieutenant colonel G.Ganbaatar who was a suspect in the case. The senior police officials charged with abuse of power, lack of responsibility during the incident and causing loss to the State.
