Mongolian Students’ Union submitted a claim to the Anti -Corruption Authority (ACA) in order to have one of Mongolia’s prestigious universities investigated.  The claim states that Mongolian National University insisted students pay 1-1.5 million MNT for enrollment in a charity class.  The ACA investigation revealed problems with the university’s rules surrounding student enrollment.

It was revealed that Mongolian National University made contracts with students based on enrollment rules for charity classes. The rules were verified by directors as a board decision and the money from the contract came into the Mongolian National University Development fund via Khaan and Khadgalamj bank accounts.  The ACA believes that the rules are illegal. The investigation also revealed that the 50 million MNT in donation money from the students was spent on the 70th anniversary of the school and the ACA says that is in violation of the 7.1.4 Act in the law against corruption.

The Anti-Corruption Authority delivered a notice to L.Gantumur, Minister of Education and Science, to take action at Mongolian National University on October 25th.
