MP S.Ganbaatar called on S.Bayartsogt, the Deputy speaker, to debate on the OyuTolgoi investment agreement.  The debate was scheduled for today but S.Bayartsogt requested to postpone the debate stating that MP S.Ganbaatar needs to hear more information about the agreement before the debate. S.Ganbaatar decided to hold a press conference with journalists about the delay while S.Bayartsogt made an explanation at the State Information Hall today.

He said “Both S.Ganbaatar and I are ready to debate but it seems that the information contained in MPs` explanations differ despite the fact that we, the contractors, provided information about the agreement many times.  For me, I am ready to debate whenever it is but I told S. Ganbaatar we should debate after collecting all the information.”

MP S. Ganbaatar told journalists “the debate is delayed only because S.Bayartsogt needs an excuse. The most important thing we should talk about is how the agreement was made and how to have Mongolians benefit from the agreement instead of criticizing someone.”  Both MPs said the debate is delayed but did not indicate as to when it will be rescheduled.
