Fourteen years have passed since the assassination of the former member of Government and Parliament, S.Zorig.  October 2, 2012 marks the fourteenth anniversary of his assassination and Mongolians remember him as one of the leaders of Mongolian’s democratic revolution in 1990

President Ts.Elbegdorj laid flowers at the statue of S.Zorig who was stabbed to death in his apartment on October 2, 1998. Mongolians believe his murder was politically motivated. The case still remains unsolved.

Supporters of S.Zorig call him the “Golden Swallow of Democracy,” and pay their respects twice a year, once on his birthday and again on his assassination day. Today, along with Mongolian President, Ts.Elbegdorj, the Prime Minister, N.Altankhuyag, members of the Democratic group in parliament, pioneers of the Democratic movement, friends, and family members laid flowers on the statue of S.Zorig.
