Centerra
Gold Inc jumped 16.7 percent to C$11.95 after the miner said it had received
permits to restart operations at a project in Mongolia, reported the Reuters.
Centerra is a Canadian-based gold mining and exploration
company engaged in the operation, exploration, development and acquisition of
gold properties in Asia, the former Soviet Union and other emerging markets
worldwide.
Major assets include the Kumtor mine in the Kyrgyz Republic,
which produced more than 8.4 million ounces of gold between 1997 and the end of
2011, and the Boroo mine, which began commercial production in March 2004 and
produced approximately 1.5 million ounces of gold by the end of 2011.
