South Korea became the biggest winners of the Chinggis Khan 2012 Judo World
Cup tournament, which was concluded on Sunday after two-day fierce competition.
South Korean Judokas won 7 golds, 3 silvers and 6 bronzes in total to top
the medal table.
The gold medals won by South Korean Judokas included 73kg, 90kg, +100kg in the
men”s category and 48kg, 70kg, 78kg, and +78kg in women”s.
Hosts Mongolia were ranked in the second place with 4 golds, 8 silvers and
14 bronzes.
The remaining three gold medals went to Japan and Russia. Japan”s Hashimoto
Yuki and Yasumatsu Haruka grabbed two golds in women”s 52kg and 63kg divisions
and Russian Judoka Vorobev Ivan obtained the gold medal of men”s 81kg.
China”s Inner Mongolian Judo team sent several young judo athletes to
compete in the tournament and Alatannabuqi won a bronze in women”s -78kg.
Chinggis Khan 2012 Judo World Cup was co-organized by International Judo
Federation and Mongolian Judo Association which drew more than 100 judo
athletes from 20 countries and regions.
Judokas who won the top three places in each category win qualifying points
for the 2016 Olympic Games.
