Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj said Tuesday that his
country attached great significance to the upcoming meeting of the Non-Aligned
Movement slated for August 26-31 in Tehran, Iran.
Elbegdorj made the remarks in a meeting in Mongolia”s capital
city of Ulaanbaatar with the visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia
and the Pacific Affairs Abbas Araqchi.
During the meeting, Araqchi submitted an invitation from Iran”s
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to his Mongolian counterpart to attend the
Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit meeting in the Iranian capital.
The Mongolian president welcomed the invitation saying that
Ulaanbaatar would participate in the meeting at the highest level.
President Elbegdorj then referred to the 40 years of historical
cooperation between Tehran and Ulaanbaatar, stressing the need to promote
bilateral relations.
