As scheduled a first session of newly elected parliament
held today morning at 10 am. President of Mongolia Tsakhia Elbegdorj opened the
first session. Than head of the General Election Commission N.Luvsanjav
introduced report and results of June 28 election. The General Election Commission
have submitted name of 44 candidates who took a majority vote in their election
constituencies by majoriatan system and 28 names by proportional system
suggested by political parties.
Than newly elected MP’s took an oath. But 69 members took an
oath from submitted 72. Three members from “Justice” coalition- O.Baasankhuu,
Ts.Oyunbaatar and Ts.Tsolmon not attended the first session.
By the confirmed results of General Election Commission 31
seats from 76 belongs to the Democratic Party, 25 to the MPP, 2 to the Civil
Will-Green Party, 11 seats to the “Justice” coalition and three independent
candidates.
According to the L.Tsog, newly elected MP from Mongolian People’s
Revolutionary Party, which join to a “Justice” coalition, a coalition decided
to delay take oath three elected members until ex-president N.Enkhbayar’s petition
to the Constitutional Court give a final decision. The General Election
Commission refused to register name of ex-president N.Enkhbayar, his son
E,Batshugar and lawyer S.Narangerel as candidate and N.Enkhbayar appealed to
the Constitutional Court of Mongolia. But the Constitutional Court reviewed
Enkhbayar’s petition on June 27 and decided not accept.
