the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of Russia
Aleksander Porfiryevich Torshin and delegations. “I’m very pleased that
you worked as observers in Parliamentary elections. I would like hear
your comments about the election” said the President.
A.P. Torshin conveyed Federation Council Chairwoman’s greeting to the President Elbegdorj and
stated that they agree with the Parliamentary Election result. He said
“We have worked as observers for the elections in Commonwealth of
Independent States and many other countries. We haven’t seen as highly
organized election as this election
which provided 100 percent with electronic ballot counting machines and
finger detecting devices. We expected that elderly people would have
some problems with the devises but it wouldn’t. We worked at 10
electoral sub commissions in Ulaanbaatar city, province and soum. At
seven a.m. of the day of an election voters have already gathered near
the polling station. Observers from all the political parties and
foreign observers were present at the polling stations. We are very
thankful that you gave foreign observers the opportunity to monitor the
election. Each polling station where we arrived and monitored, were
highly organized. We are strongly convinced that each voter had the
opportunity to vote independently. We haven’t noticed any contradictions
and failure and other foreign observers agree with it. I would like to
assure that the parliamentary election of Mongolia was absolutely fair
and in accordance with the law”.
Also A.P. Torshin the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council expressed his wishes
to further improve existing bilateral relations and partnership and
hope that new Parliament and Government would pay close attention on this.
“I’m very satisfied to hear your thoughts about the current elections.
Your participation in our election expresses the high importance of the
relations of two countries. We pay close attention to strengthen the
relations and partnership with our northern neighbor. Soon a new
Parliament and new Government will be formed in Mongolia and the President should have specific duties and responsibilities on this.
I would like to wish that new Members of Parliament and the new Members
of Government pay more attention in expanding bilateral relations in
traditional as well as new directions. I met with Vladimir Putin the President of
Russian Federation during the 12th Meeting of the Council of Heads of
Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization /SCO/. He
expressed interest to jointly implement large scale projects with our
Government. I appreciate once again your participation in our
Parliamentary election as foreign observers” said President Elbegdorj.
