Elbegdorj for receiving UNEP Award “Champions of the Earth 2012”.

In the letter,
On behalf of the United Nations Country Team in Mongolia, it is with great
pleasure that I offer my congratulations to you for receiving the “Champions of
the Earth 2012” award of the United Nations Environment Programme for your accomplishment
and political leadership in conserving the environment.

It is a well-deserved acknowledgement of Your Excellency’s exemplary political
leadership towards sustainable development and numerous initiatives both at the
national and international level. The UN Agencies in Mongolia are grateful for
your strong leadership in promoting balance between rapid economic growth and
environmental sustainability and stand committed to support you and all
Mongolians in achieving that goal.
