Since 1990″s Mongolian and Turkish statistical institutions
are actively cooperating in the area of statistics.

A protocol of cooperation
between the National Statistical Office of Mongolia (NSO), the Turkish
Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) and the Turkish International Cooperation and
Development Agency was signed in 2007 and after its successful implementation
concluded in 2009. As a continuation of the longstanding and successful
cooperation parties have agreed to implement the second round of cooperation by
signing another trilateral protocol.

Hereafter, delegates of TURKSTAT Mr.
Gurdal Gedik, Head of International Cooperation Group and Mr. Metin Erol, Head
of EU Coordination Group conducted a fact-finding mission during 4-7 June, 2012
with an aim to identify cooperation areas.
